CLEAR ANSWERS
Straight Answers About Your Driveway Security.
The practical details, before and after fitting.
Will a security post stop vehicle theft?
A raised, locked PostSecure post helps block a vehicle’s route out of your driveway. Correct positioning and sensible vehicle security matter. No security product makes theft impossible.
How many posts do I need?
That depends on the width of your driveway and whether a vehicle could drive around the posts.
Not sure? Just choose “Not sure” in our quotation form and tell us roughly how wide your entrance is. We’ll help you work out a suitable layout.
How do I lower the post for access?
Remove the Manual 100’s separate padlock and lower it by hand into its ground sleeve using the lifting handle. We demonstrate operation at handover. Keep fingers clear, lower fully and check the top is secure before driving over.
Can I drive over a lowered post?
Only when it is fully lowered and used in accordance with the product instructions. Never drive into a raised or partly lowered post. Vehicle weight and installation suitability must be confirmed for your use.
Can you fit my driveway surface?
Yes. We install on block paving, tarmac and standard concrete, subject to checking the ground conditions. Resin, slabs, gravel or unusual ground may need a different fitting approach. Send Brad a photo and we’ll confirm what’s suitable before agreeing the work.
Will you leave my driveway clean and tidy?
Absolutely. We take pride in our work and always aim to leave your driveway clean and tidy. We remove the excavated spoil and rubble, clear the work area and neatly finish around your new security post.
If you have block paving, we’ll carefully lift the necessary blocks and refit them around the installation. We want your new security post to look like it belongs there, not like an afterthought.
Existing and replacement materials may differ slightly in colour, which we’ll discuss with you beforehand.
Can you install on a sloping driveway?
Yes! We can install security posts on sloping driveways. We’ll check the slope, drainage and best position for the post before fitting to make sure it operates properly and is suitable for your driveway.
If you’re unsure, send Brad a photo and we’ll advise you.
What if there are underground services?
Posts need below-ground sleeves. Known services and drainage must be discussed and the proposed position checked before excavation. Do not assume any driveway position is safe to dig.
Does booking confirm a fitting date?
No. It submits an installation request. PostSecure checks the driveway, scope, stock and availability, then contacts you to agree a date. A quote or pay-on-completion request does not reserve stock.
When do I pay?
After we’ve finished! There’s no deposit or card required to request a standard pay-on-completion installation.
We’ll fit your security posts, show you how they work and give you the opportunity to check the finished job before payment is due.
Optional pay-now purchases follow the separately agreed payment terms. Read payment terms →
How do I maintain the post?
Follow your handover instructions. Keep the sleeve and top clear of debris, check drainage and maintain the lock as advised. If operation becomes stiff or the post jams, contact Brad rather than forcing it.
What if something goes wrong afterwards?
Contact Brad directly. We’ll help you work out what’s happened and explain the best way to put it right.
Your applicable guarantees and statutory rights remain in place.
Do your posts come with a guarantee?
Yes. Our Manual 100 comes with a five-year metal-parts guarantee against qualifying manufacturing and material defects.
Eligible PostSecure supply-and-fit installations also benefit from our 12-month theft money-back guarantee.

Are the posts crash-rated?
No certified PAS or IWA impact rating is claimed here. Customer opinions about strength are not crash-test evidence. If you need a certified impact solution, discuss that requirement before ordering.
Will my insurer give me a discount?
Ask your insurer about its own requirements. We do not promise insurer approval or a premium reduction.
Can I buy supply-only?
Yes. Speak to Brad about availability, delivery and the total for your order. Your chosen installer must fit the post suitably. We confirm the delivery arrangements before you order.
Is AutoRise electric or remote-controlled?
AutoRise 70 and AutoRise 100 use gas-spring-assisted, semi-automatic PostSecure RISE technology. Turn the key and the post rises by itself; push down manually and secure when lowering. There is no electric motor or remote control. Both models are coming soon, with no orders, deposits or confirmed launch date currently offered.
What’s the difference between Manual 100 and AutoRise?
All three models are heavy-duty, hot-dip galvanised steel driveway barriers. Lift the Manual 100 by hand and secure it with a separate padlock, then lower it manually for access. AutoRise 70 and AutoRise 100 use gas-assisted PostSecure RISE technology: turn the key and the post rises by itself. Their steel profiles are 70 × 70 mm and 100 × 100 mm respectively; Manual 100 is 100 × 100 mm. AutoRise models are coming soon.
What does semi-automatic mean?
The post rises by itself when you turn the key, without manual lifting during normal operation. Lowering remains manual: push the post down and secure it. Gas-spring assistance powers the rising action; there is no electric motor or remote control.
How does PostSecure RISE technology work?
Turn the key to release the rising mechanism. Gas-spring assistance raises the post automatically, ready to secure your driveway. We demonstrate safe operation at handover.
Can multiple RISE posts use the same key?
Yes, when supplied as a matching keyed-alike set. Keyed-alike locking is available across matching ordered RISE posts, subject to the confirmed supplied lock configuration. Brad will confirm this before ordering; it is not described as standard on every order.
How do you lower the RISE posts?
Operate the key as instructed, manually push the post down into its sleeve and secure it. Keep fingers clear and follow the supplied instructions. We demonstrate operation at handover.
Does Manual 100 need a padlock?
Yes. The Manual 100 uses a separate padlock to secure it in the raised position.
You can supply your own suitable padlock, or we can recommend one and supply it for an additional charge.
What happens after I request a free quote?
Once you’ve entered your driveway details and mobile number, we’ll show your standard installation price where applicable.
If you’re happy, you can request installation immediately. Brad will then confirm the details and arrange a suitable fitting date.
Outside the West Midlands, any estimate needs our coverage and installation checks before booking. Special surfaces or uncertain quantities need a personal review.
What happens after my quote?
If a standard West Midlands installation price applies, you can request installation straight away. Your driveway details and mobile number carry forward; just add your name and remaining street address. Brad checks suitability and agrees a fitting date with you.
What happens if my car is stolen?
Our qualifying installations are backed by a 12-month theft money-back guarantee.
If your vehicle is stolen through the protected entrance while the agreed posts are properly raised and locked, you may qualify for a refund of the amount you paid for your PostSecure supply-and-installation order.
The guarantee covers the qualifying installation purchase, not the value of the vehicle. Full terms apply →
Can you fit posts into block paving?
Yes! We regularly work with block-paved driveways. We carefully lift the necessary blocks, install the security post and cut and refit the paving neatly around it.
We take pride in leaving a professional finish.
Can you fit into tarmac or concrete?
Yes. Tarmac and standard concrete driveways can usually be suitable for PostSecure installation.
We’ll check the ground conditions and explain anything unusual before work starts.
How long does fitting take?
Most standard installations can be completed in a relatively short visit, although the time depends on how many posts you need and the ground conditions.
We’ll explain what to expect when arranging your fitting.
Can I choose a different colour?
Yes! The Manual 100 is available in your choice of colour for a small additional charge.
Black, blue, yellow and pink are examples, but other colours are available on request. We’ll confirm the finish and cost before ordering.
Can I have a chevron sticker?
Absolutely. A chevron sticker is available free of charge with any PostSecure security post. Choose standard yellow or another available colour, subject to availability.
Do you fit security posts on resin, slabs or gravel?
We can look at those driveways too. Different surfaces can need a different fitting approach, so send Brad a photo and we’ll confirm what’s suitable before agreeing the work. Special surfaces need a personal quote and do not automatically qualify for the standard installation price.
